Believe it or not, I once made websites for fun and friends. It was just a hobby that I had a lot of fun with. I made some really wild sites back then - ouch! lol
Then due to the issue of finance I tried to get help starting my own business. Every idea I had was turned down. They wouldn't back me as a writer, something I really wanted to pursue. But when they saw my designs, they gave the green light for me to become a web designer. Of course I also did some print design work & some business printing on the side.
They helped me get my certificate in web design, despit the fact I already knew how to do the work. Unfortunately you need a paper to prove what you can do. It's the only way to get paid a fair income. No paper & you're considered less qualified. It's really not a great way to establish skill or ability IMHO.
Unfortunately, my business became a victim of the bad economy in 2009. Of course, I still had some clients that just would not find someone else. They wanted me to handle their site, no one else. So I started to do freelance - not just in designing websites, but in other areas as well.
I was finally free to pursue more than just the designing jobs. I could do writing, consulting, design, print work - anything I could find!
So this section is where I'm going to show off my work that I've done. I'm still doing some work web design wise. Though I'm doing more writing between gigs. I can get passive income from the writing I do. I have several sites that I submit my writing to which earns me a share of their revenue. The gallery below shows some samples of my work.
